The award-winning series “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” has been renewed for a fourth season, but it will look a little different.
This time around, Emmy Award-winning actor Luke Kirby is joining the cast of “television’s No. 1 Canadian drama,” produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc. The news comes as Aden Young, who played Det.-Sgt. Henry Graff, leaves the show.
“From the moment we began imagining this next chapter, Luke stood out as the ideal choice. He brings a sharp intelligence and emotional depth that perfectly aligns with the kind of storytelling ‘Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent’ is known for,” said Tassie Cameron, executive producer at Cameron Pictures.

Known for his roles in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The Last Thing He Told Me” and “Étoile,” Kirby will play a new character named Det.-Sgt. John Darcy.
“His work is grounded, unpredictable and deeply character-driven, which makes Det. Darcy an immediate and fascinating presence on our team. We’re incredibly excited to welcome him to the series,” said Cameron.
In the show, Kirby’s character is called up from Guns & Gangs to partner with Det.-Sgt. Frankie Bateman, played by Kathleen Munroe, in Homicide.
Along with Munroe, returning cast members this season will include Karen Robinson, who plays Insp. Vivienne Holness; K.C. Collins, as Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester; Nicola Correia-Damude, portraying Pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva; and Araya Mengesha as tech expert Mark Yohannes.
When will season four air?
“Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” is based on the classic series format created by Dick Wolf while showcasing original Canadian stories written, produced by and starring Canadians.
It first premiered in 2024, with season one winning a Canadian Screen Award for Best Drama Series in 2025.
And with season four’s production slotted to run all the way into the middle of August, fans can expect new episodes of the show to hit their television screens this fall on Citytv.
