The City of Timmins advisory says that water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before being consumed

TIMMINS – Residents in the east end of the city are under a boil water advisory for a couple of days.

Tuesday, Porcupine and South Porcupine residents had low or no water pressure due to a broken water main.

The water has since turned back on, however, a precautionary boil water advisory is in effect until the water samples confirm it’s OK to be consumed, which is at least 48 hours after the repairs.

The City of Timmins advisory says that water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before being consumed. Dishes should also be washed with boiled water that has been cooled, or potable water from another source should be used. There should also be notices at all water taps that the water is not safe to drink, says the city.
