An electrical fire has led to a power outage for over 80 residents in the Bankview area in southwest Calgary on Wednesday.
Calgary firefighters responded to the outdoor blaze at around 5:50 a.m. on the 2400 block of 17 Street SW.
“Crews arrived to an electrical fire of a transformer on a power pole,” CFD information officer Alex Kwan said.
He adds Enmax was called to support and ensure the power was shut off for firefighters to extinguish the fire.

In the meantime, residents are still expected to be without power until around 11 a.m.
