Mississauga’s newest fire station, the 23rd in the city, will open for business this Saturday in the west end.
Located in a “high-density area,” Fire Station 123 is “strategically placed at The Collegeway and Winston Churchill Boulevard to provide faster initial response to residents in the area,” the City of Mississauga said in an online description of the new firefighting facility.
The city added that as Mississauga continues to grow, “the need for essential services (such as new/renovated fire stations) continues to rise.”
The opening of Fire Station 123 is part of an evolving citywide plan to build six new fire stations over the next decade or so “to optimize emergency response times.”
Station 123 and other yet-to-open stations across Mississauga, city officials noted, “will further improve response times to meet the goal of first-truck response in four minutes or less, 75 per cent of the time.”
Officials said Fire Station 123 was designed using an environmentally responsible approach — it achieves net-zero energy and meets the city’s Corporate Green Building Standard.

Mississauga Ward 8 Coun. Matt Mahoney, who also serves as one of the city’s two deputy mayors, said Wednesday at general committee the new fire station is set to open this Saturday. He provided no additional details on the opening of the city’s 23rd firehouse.
Fire Station 125, located in the Tenth Line/Aquitaine Avenue area of west Meadowvale in northwest Mississauga, opened late in 2024 and was the 22nd station to open in the city. It was also Mississauga’s first net-zero energy station.
That means it “combines energy efficiency and renewable energy generation to consume only as much energy as can be produced onsite through renewable sources over a year,” city officials said in an earlier online description of the facility.
Meanwhile, 17 other Mississauga fire stations now operating are either being renovated or have recently been renovated, according to the city in mid-2025. Of those, 13 are more than 30 years old and the fixes are needed to address health and safety, staffing composition and accessibility.
Among the latest facilities to undergo major renovations was Fire Station 102, located on Third Street in the Cawthra Road/Lakeshore Road East area of southeast Mississauga. That station reopened about a year ago and will eventually serve two of the city’s largest new residential/business communities.

A revamped and modernized Fire Station 102 was needed in order to meet the demands of a growing population in that part of the city, Ward 1 Coun. Stephen Dasko earlier.
The fire station, which was built in 1979, needed upgrades in response to both population growth since that time and anticipated population growth that’s coming thanks to two massive new waterfront developments — Lakeview Village and Brightwater.
In addition to existing facilities, several new fire stations are slated to open in the coming years, including:
Fire Station 124 — Cawthra Road just south of Dundas Street East (possible opening 2026)
Fire Station 126 — Mavis Road and Dundas Street West
Fire Station 127 (Lorne Park community)
Fire Station 128 (north Lakeview community)
