A 41-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a Winnipeg extortion investigation has been arrested in Toronto.
Jermaine Weekes was taken into custody on May 1, Winnipeg police said in a news release on Thursday.
He was since been returned to Winnipeg and charged with two counts of extortion.
Another man, Farhan Nabil, 29, remains wanted on two counts each of arson and extortion.
People have alleged seven people are connected to a string of extortion incidents last summer. Nabil is the only one still at large.

Fires were set at a warehouse on Spruce Street and two convenience stores on Selkirk Avenue, police said previously, with three convenience stores — two on Selkirk and one on Main Street — paying for protection from arson.
There was also a theft at a retail business on Portage Avenue, not far from the west Perimeter Highway.
The incidents happened from July 16-23.
