Flames return to Surrey home months after explosion.
At 5:45 a.m. Thursday morning (May 21) Surrey Fire Service (SFS) responded to a two story house that was well involved in fire.
SFS assistant chief, Carl Schmor shared with Peace Arch News that the fire was at residence on 14022 block and 100A ave near Lena Shaw Elementary and Green Timbers Park.
Schmor said 16 firefighters were on scene where heavy smoke and flames were upon the roof.
Firefighters were said to be able to contain the fire to the one home and prevented it from spreading to the dry trees and brush that surrounded the property.
Schmor says no one was harmed and no firefighters were injured.
The assistant chief also noted that the residence was boarded up and abandoned.
This house has previously been involved in a situation that took place back in February when crews responded to an explosion and fire, leaving one person injured.
The cause of the May 21 fire is still under investigation.
