Former Strikeforce and Bellator MMA leader Scott Coker announced plans for a new promotion, citing a focus on competition integrity and athletes. The league, possibly called “Strike MMA,” is being built with investors and entertainment executives Kevin Kay, Wade Davis, Steve Mosko, Steve Kaplan, and Tony Hawk. Griffin Gaming Partners co-founder Peter Levin, a longtime Strikeforce backer before the UFC acquisition, is also part of the launch. Coker said planning has been underway for nearly two years, while event details remain undecided.
