Ten Tim Hortons locations on Vancouver Island will soon get a facelift as part of a massive series of renovations and expansion across Canada.

This week, Tim Hortons announced that renovations were coming to 400 restaurants across the country, and 80 new restaurants were opening.

No new restaurants are coming to Vancouver Island, but 10 on the Island are getting renovations.

Those include five in Nanaimo, two in Victoria, one in Ladysmith, one in Sidney and one in Langford.

The renovations are intended to make layouts easier for customers and staff, improve digital ordering and pick up, and upgrade kitchen equipment.

“Renovation and construction material for Tim Hortons restaurants are sourced through Canadian-owned businesses, with most items manufactured on Canadian soil,” said the company in a release Thursday.

“Our custom restaurant furniture is handcrafted in Montréal from 100% Canadian-sourced maple,” it adds. “Every piece of signage is designed, fabricated, and installed by Canadian suppliers.”

The company says 340 Tim Hortons restaurant owners are investing $270 million into the renovations and the opening of the new restaurants, while Tim Hortons corporate is providing $130 million.

“Tim Hortons was built in Canada by Canadians, and we are proud to continue investing in Canada to give our guests beautiful, modern restaurants to enjoy,” said Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons. “These are Canadian families investing their own money in their own communities – and that’s something we’re proud of.”

Of the 80 new restaurants being opened this year, eight are located in British Columbia. Meanwhile, of the 400 Tim Hortons being renovated, 43 are located in B.C., including the 10 on Vancouver Island.

There’s no timeline on when exactly the renovations will take place, expect for sometime in 2026.
