Shirley May Carlson (née Allen) passed peacefully on May 9, 2026, at Evergreen Baptist Care Society at the age of 93. Born January 14, 1933, Shirley grew up in Cloverdale and married Ed Carlson on June 20, 1953. Together they shared more than 72 years of marriage. Shirley was predeceased by her daughter Sharen Burnip, son-in-law Graham Burnip, and eight siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ed Carlson; children Shelley McGarrigle-Carlson (Dave McGarrigle), Bruce Carlson, and Kevin Carlson (Diane Bold); grandchildren Gary, Jill, Jocelyn, Brent (Liz Jensen), Melissa (Tyler Cornish), and Bryce Burnip (Lianne Dolan); great-grandson Waylon Cornish; sister Beverly Unrau; and many extended family and friends. A service will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Parish at 11:30 a.m., followed by burial at Surrey Centre Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.kearneyfs.com
