Winnipeg police say a man has died after allegedly driving into a parked water truck on Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to a report of a collision around 12:30 p.m. on May 22 on Cavalier Drive, north of Hillary Crescent.
WFPS also attended the scene and extracted the 49-year-old driver from a 2020 Hyundai Kona, but he had suffered serious injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the water truck was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Through initial stages of an investigation, police believe that the Kona was being driven north on Cavalier Drive when it drove into the water truck at a high speed.
WPS says an autopsy is pending and an investigation is ongoing.
