NASCAR returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday night for the 2026 Coca-Cola 600, one of the biggest races of the NASCAR Cup Series season and the longest event on the schedule.
The Coca-Cola 600 takes place Sunday, May 24 at 6 p.m. ET and streams exclusively on Prime Video as part of NASCAR’s new media rights agreement for the 2026 season.

Sunday’s race will also carry a much more emotional atmosphere following the death of two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch earlier this week at age 41. NASCAR teams, drivers, and Charlotte Motor Speedway are planning multiple tributes throughout the Coca-Cola 600 weekend in Busch’s honor.
Among the most notable tributes, Richard Childress Racing announced the organization will not run Busch’s iconic No. 8 car during Sunday’s race. Instead, Austin Hill will drive the No. 33 as the organization temporarily retires the No. 8 following Busch’s passing.

Charlotte Motor Speedway has also painted Busch’s No. 8 into the infield grass, while tribute videos and memorial graphics have appeared throughout the race weekend across the speedway.
The 2026 Coca-Cola 600 already entered the weekend as one of NASCAR’s premier “Crown Jewel” races, but Busch’s death has transformed the event into one of the most emotional race weekends the sport has seen in years.
On the track, Tyler Reddick enters Sunday on the pole after qualifying was canceled because of the weather. Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, and Christopher Bell are all among the favorites entering the 600-mile race at Charlotte.
The Coca-Cola 600 is widely viewed as one of the toughest races in motorsports because drivers compete through changing daytime and nighttime track conditions over 400 laps at Charlotte’s 1.5-mile oval. The race is also part of one of the busiest days in motorsports each year, alongside the Indianapolis 500 and Formula 1’s Monaco Grand Prix.
