LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Racing fans now have the option to purchase a single-day ticket for Formula 1 starting Thursday, 8/14 at 10a.m.

This year, the focus of the Las Vegas Grand Prix seems to be focused on appealing to locals to make it more affordable compared to 2024.

Last year, tickets for F1 started at $250 for a single-day ticket. For a family of four, that would cost $1000.

This year, single-day tickets are starting as low as $50. That means if you have a family of four, that will cost you $200.

IN 2022, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates the median annual income for a household in Las Vegas to be just under $67,000. Not many would be able to afford the tickets from last year.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority President Steve Hill said,

I think the price points for the tickets, the adjustment where they were largely reduced about a third has been really helpful not only for just selling more tickets but actually generating more revenue.

Hill doubled on the decrease. Essentially, calling it a positive for locals, some of whom can now enjoy this experience without having to break the bank.

“We are excited about that. We think that’s going to be beneficial for the city,” he said. “This is a real lift for Las Vegas that the event is going to matter even more this year as we see recovery from the downturn, and that incremental, almost billion-dollar impact was usually important to the city.”
