Their There was a neighbourhood staple known for its coffee program and crave-worthy pastries but expanded to evening service a few years ago.
What long served as a buzzy brunch spot in the Kitsilano neighbourhood is shutting down.
Their There says they’re closing down after eight years at 2042 W 4th Ave.
On Monday, the restaurant’s owners took to social media to announce the news.
“We have reached the end of our current lease and have not come to terms that align with our operations,” reads a post to Instagram. “We are so grateful for every guest, every regular, and every team member who built this place with us.”
But the closure isn’t happening until September, the owners say.
“On a positive note, we’re in the best season for Kitsilano, and we have all summer to say goodbye to all of our favourite people. If you haven’t made it to Their There yet, we look forward to having you in!”
In 2018, Their There shared the space with sibling restaurant Hundy, a trendy burger joint. But Hundy packed up in 2021, moving to Yaletown. Hundy shut down for good earlier this year.
In 2023, Their There started serving all-day brunch, and expanded to evening service later that year, adding cocktails, chicken sandwiches and snacks to the menu.
