Marcus Nordmark is a left winger born on May 4, 2008, standing 6’2″ and weighing 187 pounds. The Swedish forward played within the Djurgårdens IF organization during the 2025–2026 season. He spent most of the year in the U20 Nationell league, while also making a few appearances in Djurgårdens’ SHL lineup. He was also seen in action at the IIHF U18 World Championship as well as the Hlinka Gretzky Cup at the beginning of the season. Generally, Marcus Nordmark is ranked within the top 32 prospects by most scouts. NHL Central Scouting placed him 8th on its final ranking among European skaters.

2025-2026 Statistics
Marcus Nordmark had an excellent statistical season in the U20 Nationell league. In 25 games, the winger recorded 38 points, including 14 goals. He was even more dominant in the playoffs, producing 23 points in 11 games. In his 8 SHL appearances, Nordmark was limited to a supporting role, collecting just one assist. After an outstanding Hlinka Gretzky Cup tournament in which he posted 12 points, including 7 goals, in 5 games, the Swedish forward was somewhat disappointing at the U18 World Championship. Indeed, his production was limited to 4 points, including 3 goals, in six games.
His ice time during his stint in the SHL was fairly limited. Marcus Nordmark averaged around 8 minutes per game in Sweden’s top professional league. In contrast, with his junior club, he averaged 21 minutes of ice time per game, including duties on the first power-play unit. He was also used on the penalty kill. At the U18 World Championship, he was still given close to 17 minutes of ice time per game, but his overall impact was somewhat underwhelming. Overall this season, regardless of the league or context in which he played, Marcus Nordmark averaged about 6 shots per game.

The forward is one of the most talented prospects eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft. He has absolutely everything needed to become a top-six offensive player in the NHL. He is fast, possesses excellent one-on-one hands, uses his size effectively, owns a quick and accurate shot, and has the vision to generate scoring chances in abundance for his teammates. Nordmark is the type of player opponents must prepare for in their game plan… when he’s at his best.
Unfortunately, consistency is not always there. Too often, Nordmark drifts through all three zones as if he were hypnotized by the puck. There is a noticeable lack of urgency in his game. In addition, his decision-making still needs work. He does not always seem concerned about the consequences of a risky pass or the effort required to recover from turnovers. He tries so many things every time he steps on the ice that it can create chaos for his own team. If he were just a little more focused on efficiency rather than finesse, I would be able to rank him much higher on my list.
The level of risk attached to his game unfortunately causes him to slide down my rankings. I respect his upside too much to place him any lower, however. Maturity will have to play a major role in his development. I hope to see him come over to this side of the Atlantic sooner rather than later.
