Kids shows are always a hit on Netflix — who could forget the Cocomelon craze from a few years ago? Now, the children have moved on to a hot new show: Ms. Rachel. The titular teacher has taken her talents from YouTube to Netflix, where she teachers young viewers everything about reading and speech.

DECIDER’s Joel Keller writes, “Ms. Rachel is a friendly, down-to-earth series that makes sure its target audience is participating with what’s going on instead of watching passively.”

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II leads the series adaptation of A.J. Quinnell’s novels alongside Billie Boullet, Alice Braga, and Scoot McNairy. DECIDER got the chance to chat with the actor and series EP Steven Caple Jr., who weighed in on whether they think a second season is in the cards.

DECIDER’s Joel Keller writes, “Man On Fire feels like it’s going to be seven episodes of filler and tortured monologuing between action scenes, which doesn’t exactly make for entertaining television.”

THE ROAST OF KEVIN HART NETFLIX REVIEW Photo: Netflix

Following last year’s Roast of Tom Brady, Kevin Hart became the next star to be at the center of a Netflix roast, fit with fellow comedians and A-listers there to mock him and each other.

DECIDER’s Sean L. McCarthy writes, “Even the biggest fans of Kevin Hart would be better off sticking to the highlight reels than sitting through this whole thing.”

With Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers onboard as executive producers, The Boroughs seemed bound to be a supernatural hit. Plus, the series set at a retirement home in New Mexico boasts a star-studded cast, including Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Geena Davis, Bill Pullman, and Clarke Peters.

DECIDER’s Joel Keller writes, “The stellar cast of The Boroughs is the biggest reason to watch this series, even if the story might be a bit predictable. We’re actually more looking forward to seeing their friendships grow and develop than see how they defeat the monster that keeps making the reseidents disappear.”

This new series hailing from Power creator Courtney A. Kemp stars Matthew Law as LAPD Officer Isaiah Stiles, and Y’lan Noel as Coltrane Wilder, a master thief.

DECIDER’s Joel Keller writes in our full Nemesis review, “There is a lot about Nemesis that’s clunky and cliche. But we liked the performances of both Law and Noel, and we hope that the complexity of both of their characters’ lives will be explored with more depth as the series goes along.”
