There continues to be some hope in Major League Baseball that certain cities will have an opportunity to host a major league team in the near future.
There seems to be a sense that expansion will occur sometime in the early 2030s, though it remains uncertain which cities will gain the upper hand.
Places like Nashville, Oakland, Charlotte, and others have all been in the mix as potential Major League cities in the near future.
However, according to the latest news, it sounds like two cities are standing out more than others: Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nashville, Tennessee, are the favorites right now.
“While cities like Portland and Sacramento are preparing their bids for potential MLB expansion sites in 2031 or later, they might be wasting their time.
“If MLB indeed expands, Salt Lake City and Nashville are the heavy favorits,” Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote.
Having a team in Nashville would be a lot of fun, as Tennessee would definitely add a different mix to Major League Baseball.
Nashville is an incredible city and would definitely bring a lot of fans to the yard. Salt Lake City would also be a lot of fun, but it would be much different than having it in a relatively warm-weather state like Tennessee.
