STATESVILLE, N.C. — McAnally-Hilgemann Racing ruled Jack Wood out of Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway due to an injury.
The team is doing it as a precaution due to an injury Wood sustained during the Aug. 8 race Watkins Glen. He blew a tire entering the esses and smacked the Armco barrier. After getting out of the truck, he showed signs of discomfort.
With Wood out, they withdrew his No. 91 truck from the weekend. They will update his status “at a later date”.
Being 19th in points, winless and out for the regular-season finale at Richmond, Wood will not race in the playoffs. In his second full-time Truck season, he has a career-high average finish of 20.1 and a seventh-place finish at Rockingham.
