Nine people have been arrested, and 42 charges have been filed after a two-day joint operation between Calgary police and Alberta Sheriffs.
Officers say they partnered with Alberta Sheriffs Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team (FASST) members for the group investigations within District 3 from May 20-21.
District 3 includes a large portion of the city’s northwest, and includes several neighbourhoods such as Sunnyside, Hillhurst, University Heights, Nose Hill Park, Brentwood, and Crescent Heights.
Officers say four police teams checked 75 addresses, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals wanted on outstanding warrants and the issuing of 42 charges.
Police say 30 of them were related to several offences, including failure to comply with a probation order, a release order, and attending court; breaking and entering, and possession of drugs for trafficking purposes.
The remainder were related to driving without insurance, fishing without a license, and trespassing.
Officers also collected $3,000 in outstanding fines.
Calgary police thanked the Alberta Sheriffs for their “continued collaboration and support.”
