A 44-year-old woman was found dead inside a northwest Winnipeg apartment complex, and two other people were sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, following a fire.
Emergency crews were called Sunday afternoon to the complex at Irysh Avenue and Blake Street, in the city’s Weston area.
Firefighters discovered the woman’s body around 2:40 p.m. and called police, a Wednesday news release from the Winnipeg Police Service said.
A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were also found and rushed to hospital.
The major crimes unit is investigating but believes the cause of the fire was accidental. The police release did not say what they believe caused it.
