TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men’s Tennis has added another standout to its 2025-26 roster with the signing of freshman Alejandro Arcila from Medellín, Colombia, head coach Clancy Shields announced Thursday. 

Arcila arrives in Tucson with an impressive junior résumé, highlighted by a Top-20 ITF world junior ranking (No. 17) and appearances in the main draw of both the Junior French Open and Junior Wimbledon. A product of the Rafa Nadal Academy, Arcila has captured multiple high-level international titles, including singles championships at the J300 ITF Junior events in Lima, Peru, and Salinas, Ecuador. 

He has also excelled in doubles play, winning the J300 doubles crown in Salinas and reaching the final of the prestigious J500 in Offenbach, Germany. Known for his all-court game and competitive spirit, Arcila has consistently been one of the top junior players in the world, boasting a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 12.81.
