San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama is on a meteoric rise as one of the NBA‘s best players.
Save for a lackluster performance in Tuesday night’s Game 5 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Wembanyama has been unstoppable throughout the 2026 postseason. In his first playoff appearance, the 7-foot-4 Frenchman has already shattered several all-time NBA records — putting up numbers like a 41-point, 24-rebound performance in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

Greatness already arrived for Wembanyama. But at just 22 years old, there’s plenty more greatness on the horizon.
Former NBA superstar turned broadcaster Reggie Miller recently compared Wembanyama’s meteoric rise to that of a young Stephen Curry.
“You just got a sense that there was greatness on the horizon. You couldn’t see it but you could sense it. And I sensed it in [Curry] because his conviction was so strong. Fast forward to today, he’s the greatest shooter of our game and the records that he holds,” Miller said, via NBA insider Jared Weiss. “But I could sense it then very much in the way I’m sensing it with Victor now.”

Wembanyama and the Spurs have their backs against the wall heading into Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night. They trail the reigning NBA-champion Thunder 3-2 and must hold home court in order to force a Game 7 back in Oklahoma City.
