The North Shore Health Network says a physician has been secured.
As a result, the emergency room will remain open and operating as usual.

The emergency department at the Richards Landing site on St. Joseph Island will be closed all weekend, starting Friday morning due to physician shortages.
The North Shore Health Network says the emergency room will shut down at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 29. It’s not scheduled to reopen until 8 a.m. on Monday, June 1.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should still call 9-1-1. Ambulances will be re-routed.
