TransLink spending $11.6M on Surrey projects this year

TransLink is spending $11,663,959 in Surrey on transportation infrastructure upgrades this year as part of a $174 million investment covering 114 projects in Metro Vancouver through its Local Government Funding Programs.
Applications for 2027 investments will open this fall.
Surrey’s 14 projects earmarked for funding in 2026 include $71,273 for 102 Avenue sidewalk installation in a school catchment area between 40 Street and 141 Street, $130,073 for 120A Street sidewalk installation in a school catchment area between 76 Avenue and 76A Avenue, $733,500 for 134 Street construction of a new multi-use pathway from 96 Avenue to 100 Avenue, $254,150 for 136 Street road improvements and sidewalk installation in a school catchment area between 14 Avenue and 16 Avenue, and $156,405 for 146 Street road improvements and sidewalk installation between 103 Avenue and 104 Avenue.
The funding also includes $409,386 for culvert replacement in the 18600-block of 16 Avenue, $400,000 for Little Campbell River bridge rehabilitation in the 19300-block of 16 Avenue, $1,765,699 for 16 Avenue road widening and construction of a multi-use pathway from 166A Street into the 16900-block, $2,762,069 for road widening, multi-use pathways and new streetlights to provide safe multi-modal connections on 32 Avenue between 176 Street and 184 Street, $2,555,891 for 64 Avenue road widening between 152 Street and 164 Street, and $3,173,541 for 72 Avenue road widening from 144 Street to 152 Avenue.
Also included in Surrey 2026 funding allotment from TransLink is $398,172 for 96 Avenue sidewalk installation between Scott Road and 126 Street, $600,000 for 98 Avenue construction of a multi-use pathway between 134 Street and King George Boulevard, and $553,800 for construction of a multi-use pathway with a landscaped boulevard on University Drive.
