A 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with a Surrey Police child exploitation investigation.
The SPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit started investigating in January 2025 after receiving reports about the suspect possessing and distributing child sexual abuse and exploitation material online.
In June 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home in South Surrey, where investigators located and seized items related to the investigation.
Mark Reade is charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, unsafe storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.
Reade appeared in Surrey provincial court on Thursday (May 28) and was released on “numerous court-imposed conditions,” police said. He is next scheduled in court on June 25.
