With the Canadiens one game away from elimination in the NHL semifinals, the team announced there will be no outdoor watch party outside the Bell Centre for Friday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
“Please note that our outdoor watch parties are held exclusively on home game days. As a result, there will be no watch party for Game 5 on Friday, May 29, 2026, on Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal,” the Canadiens wrote in a post on X.
Hordes of fans gather in front of projector screens outside the arena for every home game.
In Game 7 of the previous two series, both away games, the Bell Centre sold stadium tickets for about $12 to screen the game on the jumbotron. It sold out quickly both times.
Now, there may be no Game 7 in the semifinals against the Carolina Hurricanes, with the Canadiens down 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.
