007 First Light has many small side activities, secrets, cameos, and challenges to complete that are entirely optional or easy to miss. One of those features that forms a base part of the story, but has a lot more to it is the Tac Sim.
The 007 First Light Tac Sim mode is inspired by a mode from IO Interactive’s last game and acts as a way to get more from the game beyond the main story.
Here is a breakdown of how it works:
What is Tac Sim in 007 First Light?
The 007 First Light Tac Sim is a replayable way to revisit the game’s main levels and experience them with new objectives, gameplay restrictions, and randomised modifiers.
The game’s main levels and areas get transformed into more traditional Hitman-style missions, called Escalations, with modifiers that can limit or change how you proceed after being dropped into the area or level.
There are multiple difficulty levels for each Escalation, with them becoming more challenging as you progress up the difficulty ladder.

Additionally, the Tac Sim has Operations, which are open-ended missions that give you more freedom and allow you to play around with your Q-Watch, gadgets, and hone your bluffing skills in whatever way you like.
These Operations have a few challenges attached that are quite simple.
Earning XP and completing Tac Sim missions will reward you with XP, improving your level and allowing you to unlock enhanced items in the shop, which you can then use in future Tac-Sim missions. You can also buy new outfits and cosmetics for Bond.
How to unlock replayable missions in 007 First Light explained
You can unlock the Tac Sim in 007 First Light once you complete the game’s intro chapter: Against All Odds. After this, you will get your Q-watch and talk to Selina Tan. Upon completing the training after this in the main story, you can return and enter the Tac Sim to begin learning more about it.
Additional missions and Escalations will unlock as you play through the rest of the game.
The Tac Sim is where 007 First Light will get post-launch content, as IO Interactive have confirmed there are more updates planned for the game after launch.
