Police have charged a truck driver from Alberta and a company from Brampton following a crash that left one person injured on an Ontario Highway.
The multi-vehicle collision happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday on Highway 11 at the intersection of Airport Road in North Bay, the OPP says.
Investigators say the driver of a commercial motor vehicle failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and collided with a passenger vehicle before continuing southbound while striking additional vehicles.
One victim was rushed to hospital with minor injuries, police say.
The Ministry of Transportation investigated the truck and found “multiple critical defects,” police say.
The OPP has charged a 29-year-old driver from Alberta and a commercial carrier based out of Brampton have been charged with multiple offences.
“The OPP would like to thank members of the public who assisted at the scene and those who have come forward with information,” police said.
