How It Happened

Winnipeg scored first in the first quarter. Taylor Elgersma ran 2 yards for a touchdown, and Sergio Castillo added the convert. BC answered with a 21-yard Sean Whyte field goal. Castillo then made a 61-yard field goal as the quarter ended for a 10-3 Winnipeg lead.

BC scored 17 points in the second quarter. Whyte made a 49-yard field goal. Chase Brice threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Nick Cenacle, and Whyte’s convert put BC ahead 13-10. Brady Lidster answered with a 28-yard field goal to tie it 13-13. Brice then threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Cenacle before halftime, and Whyte’s convert made it 20-13.

BC added to its lead in the third quarter. Mark McNamee made a 28-yard field goal for a 23-13 score. Neither team scored again in the third.
