Passenger medical emergency delays Victoria-Vancouver sailings

A medical emergency has impacted sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen.
A BC Ferries service update said a passenger at the Swartz Bay terminal “experienced a medical emergency that required immediate medical attention,” delaying the 6 p.m. sailing Saturday (May 30).
As a result, the ferry departed 62 minutes behind schedule.
“Thank you to our customers for your patience during this delay,” said BC Ferries.
The 8 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen will also be delayed.
Currently, today’s last sailing at 9 p.m. from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen has 17 per cent vehicle space available.
“If you have a reservation on an upcoming sailing today, please arrive during the check-in window noted in your booking confirmation email to maintain your reserved status,” BC Ferries said. “This ensures we can stage your vehicle at the terminal ahead of standby customers and those reserved on later sailings.”
