A 78-year-old woman from North York was taken to a trauma centre, where she was later pronounced dead, said police. They said the woman was the passenger of a vehicle and that the driver of that vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No other injuries have been reported, the OPP said.
Road closures have re-opened as of Sunday morning after an on scene investigation, they said.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
