The Cracker Barrel 400 is under a rain delay. The pre-race ceremonies have come and gone, but things are getting tricky as the NASCARCup Series gets hit by the bad weather bug.
UPDATE: NASCAR has announced a new start time of 8:25 p.m. ET. At that time, NASCAR will have drivers start engines again and prepare to race shortly after. Track drying efforts are still underway until that time.

Nashville Superspeedway is a sellout for Sunday’s race. It is the fourth year in a row that the track has had a Sunday sellout. These fans have had to wait a little longer to see their favorite drivers compete for the win.
NASCAR will do all it can to dry the track quickly and get to racing. Rain has played games all weekend long with NASCAR and the three national series. It will rain, stop, then rain again. The worst part, most of it has been a light and inconsistent rain. Just enough to keep cars off the track and require track drying equipment.

The last two weeks, rain has plagued NASCAR and its races at Charlotte and Nashville. These night races at Nashville are good for the fans and drivers from a temperature standpoint. It gets absolutely brutal during the day this time of the year in Tennessee. But you run the risk of evening and night bringing changing temperatures, and subsequently, rain and unpredictable weather.
It’s also Nashville! Everything in Nashville worth doing is done under the bright lights. The seats are sold out and these fans are eager to watch some racing at Nashville Superspeedway. We are just moments away from the delayed start of the Cracker Barrel 400.
