Newton Town Centre will be busy Saturday, June 6 during the 2026 Car Free Day Surrey festival.

Admission is free for music and dance, games, climbing wall, bounce houses and other all-ages activities, plus food trucks, market vendors and more, from noon to 8 p.m.

A section of 137 Street will be closed to traffic, south of 74 Avenue.

“Whether you’re grooving to live beats, cheering on talented dancers, or soaking up the sunshine with a snack in hand, Car Free Day Surrey is your go-to summer kickoff,” promises the website carfree.ca.

Sponsors of the fifth annual fest include Newton BIA, Translink, City of Surrey and Amazon.

Last June, sunny weather made for a warm Car Free Day Surrey, among several such events in Metro Vancouver presented by TransLink, local municipalities and business improvement associations.
