A man awaiting trial for alleged dangerous driving in a fatal crash in 2024 has now been charged for stunt driving in Mississauga, Peel police say.
On May 23 around 1 a.m., the 20-year-old man was driving 102 kilometres per hour in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Argentia Road, where the speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour, Peel police said in a news release Sunday.
The Woodstock man now faces four charges, including stunt driving, speeding and failure to surrender his driver’s license. The man’s driver’s license has been suspended 30 days and his vehicle has been impounded for 14 days, police said.
The man is already facing charges connected to a collision in Brampton on Nov. 24, 2024, that killed one man and left two other people injured. He was allegedly leaving a street racing event at the time of that crash, police said at the time.
He was charged with dangerous operation causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm for that incident.
The charges have yet to be tested in court.
