Canada Post says employees represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have voted to accept new collective agreements.
The agreements cover both the Urban and Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier bargaining units and will remain in effect until January 31, 2029.
Canada Post President and CEO Doug Ettinger says the ratification brings stability and allows the corporation to focus on rebuilding its business, restoring confidence in the postal system, and improving service for Canadians.
The Crown corporation says the new agreements recognize the need for changes within Canada Post as it works to adapt to changing customer needs and ongoing financial challenges.
According to Canada Post, the agreements will allow the corporation to offer affordable weekend parcel delivery and make adjustments to its retail network while maintaining what it describes as good-paying jobs across the country.
