A road closure is in place and police are advising people to steer clear from the site of an industrial fire in Brampton.
Around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said firefighters were called to a commercial property in the area of Intermodal Drive and Goreway Drive in Brampton.
A photo from the scene shows an industrial building with a large plume of dark smoke rising into the sky.
Police say Intermodal Drive has been closed west of Goreway Drive, and that fire crews are actively fighting the blaze.
“Heavy smoke reducing visibility on roadways causing delays,” police said.
No injuries have been reported, but police say residents in the area should keep their windows closed. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
