A beloved Michelin-recommended Toronto restaurant is gearing up to open a new location west of the city in Mississauga.
PAI Northern Thai Kitchen, known for its extensive menu and “fresh, tasty dishes sized for sharing,” is opening a spot at Square One Shopping Centre, according to the AGCO. Square One is located at 100 City Centre Dr.
Helmed by chef Nuit Regular and her husband, PAI currently has locations in Toronto at 18 Duncan St., 2335 Yonge St., and 1108 King St., at Kitchen Hub.
Celebrities are known to frequent these restaurants and include: Prime time Emmy-Award winner Sandra Oh, Matt Johnson from “Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie,” Paul Sun-Hyung Lee from “Kim’s Convenience,” and comedian Hasan Minhaj — to name a few.
“Named for the Thai village where Nuit Regular and her husband opened their first restaurant, PAI is perpetually busy,” according to Michelin.
“A former nurse, Nuit now soothes by cooking her family recipes and street food favourites for hungry patrons.”
On the menu at their locations, diners will find khao soi, a noodle-and-coconut-milk dish, along with kanom jin nham ngeaw, a pork rib and tomato soup with rice vermicelli.

While opening details are yet to be announced for the upcoming Mississauga location, the AGCO notes there will be both an indoor and outdoor area of the restaurant.
As foodies wait to learn more, PAI’s sister restaurants include Thai Tavern at 221 Richmond St. W., Kiin at 326 Adelaide St. W., Chaiyo by PAI on the fourth floor of 81 Bay St., and Makilala at 105 Church St.
There’s also Sukhothai with locations at 52 Wellington St. E., 1442 Dundas St. W., and 460 Front St. E.
