Police are investigating a collision that seriously injured two pedestrians in northeast Calgary Tuesday afternoon.

A Honda Pilot driven by a man in his 50s was turning from westbound 20th Avenue onto southbound 32nd Street N.E. when his vehicle struck the two men, throwing them several metres, police said in a release.

The pedestrians, a man in his 50s and a man in his 20s, were seriously injured and remain in hospital on Wednesday.

They were listed in critical condition but have since been upgraded to serious condition, police said.

It’s believed they were in a crosswalk when they were hit.

The driver remained at the scene and is co-operating with police as they investigate.

Speed, alcohol, and drugs are not believed to have been factors.
