Rotary Bike Day tours roll from Surrey park this Saturday

Cyclists will gather at Surrey’s Holland Park on Saturday morning (June 6) for the fourth annual Rotary Bike Day event.
For $10 per person or $20 per family, riders get guided tours starting from the southwest corner of the park, near 98B Avenue and 134 Street, 9:15 a.m. registration.
Cyclists can choose a shorter seven-kilometre route, ideal for families and casual riders, taking approximately 40 minutes to complete. A more vigorous experience is the 16KM, a one-hour ride. Register on clubrunner.ca, or call 778-855-6616.
Rotary Bike Day is all about promoting health, harmony and happiness in Surrey, said Lal Baniya, event organizer.
“Our goals are simple: encourage safe cycling, build a greener community, advocate for better bike infrastructure and connect neighbours,” Baniya explained.
“In our past events, people from all walks of life have joined the riders including enthusiastic bikers, families, kids, and seniors. It truly is an inclusive community day, and to ensure everyone stays safe, this is a fully guided tour where each team is led by trained ride leaders and marshals.”
Cyclists should bring their own bike and helmet; a limited number of bikes will be available at the venue on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bike Day organizers/partners are event host Rotary Club of Surrey, HUB Cycling South Surrey White Rock Committee and R.E.C. for Kids Society.
