More sightings have been reported of a wallaby running loose in the countryside.

It was first spotted on Tuesday outside the village of Ilketshall St Andrew, near Bungay, Suffolk.

Police were also called on Wednesday at 15:30 BST after a sighting on a road in Wissett, near Halesworth, a few miles from the Norfolk border. The animal jumped into a field and disappeared.

The force encouraged anyone who has spotted the wallaby to contact them.

It is not clear if the animal has escaped captivity or is wild.

Wallabies are native to Australia but research suggests they are increasingly thriving in the UK.

Large populations of wallabies have been recorded on the Isle of Man, with other recorded sightings of the animals in the Peak District.
