STONY PLAIN – A teacher became trapped and was later taken to hospital after a van crashed into a daycare west of Edmonton.
Mounties say the children inside the daycare in Stony Plain were OK and had been evacuated by the time they arrived.
One daycare employee was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Darren Buryniuk, whose outfitting business is next door to Moonlight Montessori Academy, says his children, ages one and three, were inside the daycare when it happened.
Buryniuk says he didn’t hear the impact but says someone who worked at the daycare rushed over and said the kitchen roof was caved in and a teacher was trapped.
Police say the man driving the van has been taken into custody and was getting a medical check, while the building was closed off due to a gas leak.
