Series leader Layne Riggs arrives at Michigan International Speedway off consecutive wins ahead of the DQS Solutions and Staffing 250
Layne Riggs took over the lead in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings after his victory at Nashville last week and comes to Michigan International Speedway looking for his third straight win. The trucks race at MIS, a two-mile D-shaped asphalt oval, for the second straight year and was lengthened to 250 miles for its return to the schedule in 2025. Qualifying was held on Saturday morning ahead of the afternoon drop of the checkered flag with Riggs holding a 37-point lead with seven races remaining before The Chase begins for the top 10 drivers in the standings.

Stewart Friesen, currently ninth in the standings through 11 starts, won at Michigan last year, finishing 0.111 seconds ahead of Grant Enfinger after taking his only lead with two laps remaining in overtime. The 125-lap race runs in three stages, the first two covering 30 laps each before a final stage taking in the final 65 trips around the track.
Kaden Honeycutt, with one win and a series-best seven top-five finishes this season, trails Riggs by 37 points, with Christian Eckes 93 points back, Chandler Smith trailing by 96 points and Gio Ruggiero rounding out the top five with a 106-point gap. The rest of the top 10 includes Ty Majeski, Ben Rhodes, Tyler Ankrum, Friesen and Daniel Hemric.
Riggs, Honeycutt and Smith are the only series regulars with race wins this season. Part-time driver Corey Heim, last year’s series champion, has a pair of wins while the remainder of the victories went to drivers from NASCAR’s other series, including two wins by the late Kyle Busch.
