A Kitchener teen won big at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton last month for a project that could fix a 35-year-old problem in the medical field. Gurnoor Kaur, a Grade 11 student from Cameron Heights, found a way to fix demographic biases in blood oxygen sensors that lead to inaccurate readings of vital signs and oxygen in darker-skinned patients. Gurnoor talks about her experience at the fair and what she’s working on next.
