Yaletown’s Dovetail is getting a new sibling, and it’s just down the road.
Bevel has been announced for 1165 Mainland St., just a two-minute walk from Dovetail at 1079 Mainland.
While Dovetail was inspired by the West Coast, with California a focus for its share plates, dinners and cocktails, Bevel is looking to the Atlantic, with a New York-inspired concept, according to owners of the incoming restaurant.
In Bevel’s comments on its first Instagram post, Dovetail greets its sibling with a “Hey sister.”
The new restaurant is replacing MeeT in Yaletown, which closed this spring.
The Yaletown location was the third MeeT to shutter in less than a year after the closure of its Victoria spot in July 2025, followed by Gastown last November.
A timeline for Bevel’s opening hasn’t been announced yet.
