Surrey Police investigate shooting in Newton

Police are investigating a suspected targeted mid-morning shooting in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood on Tuesday (June 9).
Surrey Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 6600 block of 129 Street at around 10:44 a.m.
Investigators believe that an individual, who was in a vehicle, shot at another person in a vehicle. Both vehicles fled the area, and there were no reported injuries. Although two homes were damaged by the gunfire.
The motive is not known at this time, but police believed the shooting was targeted and not extortion-related.
