Storm leads to school closures, bus cancellations across Manitoba

Tuesday’s storm has led to some school closures and bus cancellations across Manitoba. 

Heavy rain, hail, strong winds and lightning ravaged a large portion of the province, flooding many areas and leaving others without power. 

As a result, several schools have decided to close their doors for the day.

School closures

Interlake School Division- All schools are closed

Lord Selkirk School Division- Mapleton School and Lockport Middle School are closed.

Prairie Rose School Division- SFX, ÉSE, & Iberville Schools closed.

St. James-Assiniboia School Division- Hedges School, Buchanan School, and John Taylor Collegiate are closed due to a power outage.

Swan Valley School Division- Minitonas School and Ecole Swan River South School are closed.

Bus cancellations

Mountain View School Division- All Roblin bus routes are cancelled due to overland flooding and unsafe road conditions.

Swan Valley School Division- Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 8(in-town only), 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 27, and 28 are cancelled.
