Maple Leafs fans have revealed their choice for the worst Leafs draft pick of all time, and it’s a player who never played a single NHL game.
As the offseason rolls on for the Toronto Maple Leafs, it’s a natural time to look back, whether at the team’s greatest players, standout seasons, or notable draft picks.
Unfortunately, not every draft memory is worth celebrating. One player has now been voted by fans as the worst draft pick in franchise history, and the verdict is clear.
According to The Leafs Nation on X:
“Tyler Biggs was voted as the worst draft pick in Maple Leafs history.
Now it’s time to vote on who is the best enforcer in Maple Leafs history.”
Biggs was selected 22nd overall in the 2011 NHL Draft by then-GM Brian Burke, who had a well-known preference for drafting big, physical players. At 6-foot-3, Biggs fit that mold perfectly. But, the pick turned out to be a massive miss.
Afterward, he bounced around the ECHL, spending most of his time with the Kalamazoo Wings, before officially retiring in 2018-19.
