While the end result of the 2025 MLB playoffs may have been heartbreak for the Blue Jays, there is still plenty of reason for the team to celebrate its magical run to the World Series.

On Wednesday, the team’s commemorative rings for capturing the 2025 American League championship were shown off on social media, generating both praise and criticism from fans.

“The Toronto Blue Jays commemorate their third ALCS title with custom-cut sapphires and a brilliant garnet stone to form their iconic logo and celebrate their brand identity,” The Champions Collective shared on social media, along with images of the ring.

While the face of the ring features a blinged-out Blue Jays logo and “American League Champions” written in gold around it, the sides are equally stunning. On one side is the player’s name and number along with a golden American League championship trophy, while the other features the Toronto skyline and 2025 in gold.

On the inside of the ring is 10.20.25 — for Oct. 20, 2025, the date the Jays clinched the ALCS — and the results of their series against the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners. The player’s signature is also engraved on the inside bottom of the ring, adding to the personalization.

In another post, The Champions Collective shared the meaning behind the specific number of sapphires and other details in the bauble.

“From 54 sapphires representing the club’s 54 home wins at Rogers Centre to the intricately crafted Toronto skyline featured on the side, this AL championship ring captures a season the city will never forget,” the post read, along with detailed photos of the ring.

Curiously, while the posts by The Champions Collective showing off the rings had been shared on social media, they were removed by the company on Wednesday afternoon.

The brand’s social media also features rings that it has created for several North American champions, including the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, the NHL’s Florida Panthers and the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces.

What did fans think of the rings?

While the rings themselves scored rave reviews from users on social media, the biggest gripe seemed to be the fact that they even exist.

“Gotta love 2nd place rings,” one user commented on Instagram.

“What the heck! There’s second place rings now!!” another user wrote. “This is insane! I thought it was only a world championship series ring and trophy that matters?”

“Looks cool but a 2nd place ring is crazy,” a third user wrote.

“A ring is for champions,” one user wrote on X. “Winning the AL is not a championship!”

However, several fans were quick to point out that the Jays aren’t the first team to celebrate winning a pennant with a statement-making ring.

On X, users shared pictures of league championship rings that both the Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers gave their players in recent years.

“Wait til y’all find out EVERY MLB & NFL team that loses the championship does this,” another user commented on Instagram.

The rings reportedly were handed out to players during a private ceremony recently.

In a post on Reddit, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was seen showing off his new prized possession during batting practice at the Rogers Centre.
