A pedestrian has been hospitalized after she was hit by a vehicle in the Ville-Marie borough around 2:50 a.m. Thursday, according to Montreal police.
The pedestrian was crossing St-Laurent Blvd. when a vehicle heading east on René-Lévesque Blvd. struck her, police say. They believe the light was green for the motorist.
The driver fled, and the woman was found unconscious by first responders.
Police have met with witnesses and hope to get more information from surveillance cameras in the area. They do not have a description of the driver or vehicle.
A perimeter has been set up and some streets closed during the investigation: René-Lévesque is closed between St-Urbain and St-Dominique Sts. St-Laurent is closed between Viger Ave. and René-Lévesque.
Police are directing traffic.
