Speaking of Wildlife to host ‘Wild friends and neighbours’ event

Sunday event is ‘a way for families to learn about the wild animals that we share our natural spaces … with while supporting a great cause,’ says official

Speaking of Wildlife will host a new community event, Wild Friends and Neighbours, on June 14, 2026, offering families an opportunity to meet wildlife ambassadors, enjoy family-friendly activities, learn about local wildlife, and help support the animals in their care. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s Centre and admission is by donation.

The event features two live-animal presentations, at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Additional activities include wildlife-themed crafts, educational displays, and a gift shop.

“Wild Friends and Neighbours is a way for families to learn about the wild animals that we share our natural spaces – like parks and backyards – with while supporting a great cause,” Krystal Hewitt, SOW’s Director of Operations, said.

“Proceeds go directly towards the ongoing care of the non-releasable animals that call Speaking of Wildlife home.”
