Langley intersection set to close again for SkyTrain work

A Langley intersection is expected to close again soon as part of the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain guideway is under construction.
The intersection of 203 Street and Industrial Avenue is expected to shut down starting on Tuesday, June 16 at 9 a.m., in a closure that could run until 10 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
The closure is necessary for the installation of parts of the guideway, in the form of large pre-cast concrete beams. These will be hoisted into place by large cranes.
One such set of beams has already been installed during a previous temporary closure.
Although most of the route’s guideway is being built by four large launching gantries, this stretch is being built by the contractor for the Langley City Station, the final station on the 16-kilometre extension of the line.
Industrial Avenue, which has been a one-way street during much of the construction work, will be re-opened to two-way traffic for the duration of the intersection closure, and people will still be able to access businesses and homes along the route.
When the work is done, eastbound-only traffic will resume on Industrial.
Most of the new Surrey-Langley SkyTrain line runs down Fraser Highway, but at the Langley Bypass, the route veers slightly, following a small alley and then Industrial Avenue, parallel to Fraser.
